Child Development Centers
BES has provided Mental Health Consultation services to child development centers (CDC) since 2010. BES is responsible for providing mental health consultation services to the 18 centers in Washington, DC. Our duties include: Consultations with teachers and parents regarding students’ disruptive behaviors, Conducting system-wide classroom observations to identify students with behavioral intervention needs, Develop behavior intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and parents, Conduct parenting psycho-educational workshops, Provide brief-solutions focused counseling for parents and children, Refer clients in need of prolonged counseling to appropriate community agency, Provide family outreach to engage parents in their children’s education, Conduct professional development seminars to teachers related to behavior management practices. The contracts are supported by BES’s staff of licensed psychologists, social-workers, and board-certified behavior analysts with expertise in child and family mental health treatment. BES has supported clients with On-Demand counselors for training and outreach events, and for traumatic on-site incidences. Furthermore, through monthly blogs and e-Newsletters BES keeps families abreast of child development and parenting best practice and research. In addition, to the contracts described above BES recently entered into a contract with Montgomery County Maryland Department of Health and Human Services Early Childhood Services to provide mental health consultation services to CDC countywide.
